I hope your Thanksgiving was wonderful! Thank you for all the goodies that you sent in!
It was a pleasure to speak with all of you at conference time.
Advent began on Sunday and we will be doing many activities in class to prepare for and celebrate the birth of Jesus.
Each week of Advent we will do something kind for someone else. This week we will be making cards for our soldiers.
A note will be coming home on Monday about a class gift for a needy boy and girl in our community.
We will also be making Christmas decorations for the Veterans Hospital in Montrose.
(We received a very nice note of thanks for our Veterans Day cards)
Spelling- bed hen leg bell well nest vest west smell shell
We will be discussing time lines and will be making a class timeline highlighting some of our class accomplishments to date. Each child will be making a time line at home highlighting some of their own personal history.
Math- We begin addition this week!
Don't forget......Friday is a 1/2 day!

Week of November 22nd-24th!
I am very much looking forward to speaking with you at Report Card conferences!
Spelling- where, going, have, make, said, they, want, went ,talk, walk
There will be no test on these sight words but we will be doing different word study activities during the week. I just introduced ABC Order and we will be doing that as well.
Math- We will continue working on greater than >, less than < and equal to = as well as number sequencing.
We work regularly on counting by 2's, 5's and 10's! The class does very well!
We put our class bear, Bernate, to bed for the Winter. We will check on him (he is only under the table behind Mrs. Abate's desk) until he wakes in Spring. We ate nuts and berries for snack just like some hibernating animals. YUMMY!
Our Thanksgiving Books are beautiful! I will be giving them to you at conference time and I ask that you send them back after Thanksgiving so they can be displayed at the Curriculum Fair.
May God shower you and those you love with health and happiness this Thanksgiving.
