Week of March 21st- 25th!

I hope your weekend was a nice one!
I marched in the Wallkill St Pat's Parade with MPB earlier in the day.  We have a wonderful school community and I am very proud to be a part of it.

Thank you to Dave Cocks from Walden Savings Bank for visiting us on Thursday to talk about banking.

Thank you also to Mr. & Mrs. Barry for their visit on St. Patrick's Day to talk about Ireland, St. Patrick  and other Irish Saints.  What a treat for the First Grade!

Those mischievous leprechauns visited our room on St. Patrick's Day and really messed things up.  They did leave us some treats and Lucky Charms for breakfast.  Carter even brought in his spy gear to try and catch them......but they are way too quick for us!
Thank you for all the "green treats" you sent in!

Please read each night with your child.  I am so pleased at how well they are Reading.  We will work daily on decoding skills as well as vocabulary and comprehension.

We will begin our food pantry project this week as we read Stone Soup  and organize a school wide food collection for the Montgomery Food Pantry.

Working with magnets as well as a spring planting project are upcoming Science activities.

Ask your child about our Lenten Cross of Kindness.

We did Stations of the Cross on Friday and will do that each Friday in Lent.
We will continue talking about Pentecost and the Holy Spirit. (Chapter 11)
Test on Thursday!

Have a happy and safe week and thank you for sharing your children with me!
