Week of June 6th - June 10th!

I hope you all had a nice weekend!  The weather was delightful for sure!

The students came home from school on Friday with all their purchases from our 1st Grade Store.
They definitely have a good foundation in the value and counting on of money.  We will continue to review this.

This week in Math we will begin telling time to the hour and half hour.  We will be using hands on clocks to help us with this.

Test on Friday! (can you tell I'm excited about summer????)
There will be no NEW Spelling words next week.  We will use this week to review words and practice words that have not been spelled correctly.

A note came home about our poetry recital on Thursday, June 23rd!  We will begin to work on all the special things to be included in that day.  All family members and friends are invited.  The Poetry Readings will begin at 9:00 am in the gym.

Fr. Fallon visited our class after Mass on Friday to talk  about the sacrament of Reconciliation and Penance.
This week we will talk about Mass and the Eucharist.  We will invite the 2nd graders to our room so they can describe their experience making First Holy Communion.
Test on Friday

The students brought home their bean plants on Friday.  That went along with our reading of From Seed to Plant.  I am very pleased at the progress that all the students are making in Reading.  Please continue to read with your children at home.

Have a wonderful week and thank you for all you do!!!
