I hope you had a nice weekend!
It's hard to believe that we are two weeks away from the end of this school year. It has been an honor for me to teach your children and share this wonderful school year with them. I know I speak for Mrs. Abate as well when I say they are a magnificent group of kids. They are smart, kind and so very funny. Their unique personalities made for a quite an enjoyable experience for all of us. We will miss them next year...but thank goodness they will be right across the hall with the wonderful Mrs. Downes. I know I am leaving them in excellent hands.
Spelling- we will be reviewing some of the words that gave us trouble during the year.
There is no test on Friday but we will have a class Spelling Bee!
Reading- We will be finishing up Me on the Map and Watermelon Day.
We will have our final Reading test on Wednesday.
I am sure your child has told you about all the Junie B. Jones books we have read this year. They love those books. They memorized the first paragraph which is the same in all the books...ask them to say it for you!!!! We will begin our final book which is Junie B.Jones.. Graduation Day. The class is very excited.
Religion- Thank you to our wonderful 2nd Graders for coming to our room and answering questions about First Holy Communion. What a treat for 1st Grade.
We will finish up our chapter on Mass and the Eucharist with a test on Wednesday.
We will be working on our Father's/Grandfather's Day gifts this week as well.
REMEMBER....... OUR POETRY READING WILL BE ON THURSDAY, JUNE 23rd AT 9:00

This week in Math we will begin telling time to the hour and half hour. We will be using hands on clocks to help us with this.
