May 23rd- May 27th

Happy Monday!  I hope your weekend was a nice one.

We will visit the book fair on Monday and the students can purchase or just look around.  The book fair will be up and running until Thursday!

Our class trip is Tuesday and we will be leaving the school at 9:00 am.  We are going to the Trevor Zoo in Millbrook, NY and then the Millbrook Tribute Park.  Your child will need a bag lunch including a drink. Snacks will be provided at the park! Sneakers and comfortable clothes are suggested.  We will return to MPB by 2:30 so students can take the bus home!

We will continue with our unit on money in Math!  We have been using our "play money" (it looks so real) to learn the value of each coin and add coin values together.  We will finish the unit next Friday (June 3rd) with the FIRST GRADE STORE!  Ask your child about it!

Today we will be dancing the Macarena to close out our Reading story, Rex and Lilly...Let's Dance
One of our groups is reading about Johnny Appleseed!
Please continue to read each day with your child.

We will be planting beans this week to coincide with the story From Seed to Plant .
We will be making Root Beer Floats on Friday to identify the 3 types of matter!  Science can be so delicious!

We will be talking about the story of the Prodigal Son in Religion. Last week we talked about peacemakers and how Jesus was always a Peacemaker.  They wrote about someone they knew who was a peacemaker.  They did a beautiful job and their work will be hanging in the hall.

Check out the Caterpillar Life Cycle projects  and butterflies hanging in the hall.

Have a wonderful week!!!
